“A master of the guitar” ~ Sean Rafferty, BBC Radio 3
Iago Banet creates stories without words, enthralling audiences as he does so.
After starting his career in Galicia, he moved to London in 2014, where he played in various bands before focussing on his solo career.
Influenced by figures such as Merle Travis, Chet Atkins and Tommy Emmanuel, he has released three solo albums, including “A Sunset Wine” (2019), “Iago Banet” (2022) and “TRES” (2023), and has carried out several highly successful tours throughout the UK; which have included multiple sell-out shows and a fantastic reception from audiences.
Banet has built a reputation as a solo artist in what is known as ‘fingerstyle’; showcasing new levels of skill and complexity, and receiving outstanding reviews as he does so.
He has appeared on BBC Radio 3 In Tune twice and has featured on BBC Radio 2’s The Blues Show with Cerys Matthews.
His versatility and immense talent is reflected in his fusing of styles, including fingerstyle, gypsy jazz, blues, rock, country, dixieland swing, Tex-Mex, pop and folk; and he has performed at renowned festivals, collaborated with multiple artists, and has performed alongside Josh Smith (Joe Bonamassa), Mark Flanagan (Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra), Jack Broadbent and Clive Carroll, amongst others.
Most recently Iago has been confirmed as support to Jethro Tull in Spain
Iago’s technique and approach to performance have captivated crowds across the UK and Spain
He is a “one man band” on acoustic guitar not to be missed.

"A witty and captivating mix of folk, swing, blues and classical showstoppers". The Guardian
Virtuoso mandolin, sensational songs, hot swing fiddle and huge lashings of fun from ‘one of the world’s great mandolin virtuosos’ and 'one of Britain's finest voices'. It’s probably the diversity of their repertoire that surprises people most: from folk songs to Berlioz, blues, classical mandolin show-stoppers, swing fiddle, and a couple of their own infamous comic songs.
